Annie Simpson supporting families with children's sleep, behaviour, bedtime routines and parenting challenges

Understanding your child.

Parenting doesn't come with a manual and all the advice from books, social media, well-meaning friends and even AI can leave you feeling more confused than confident. As an experienced children's sleep consultant based in Richmond, I support families across London and online throughout the UK with personalised sleep and behaviour support.

Whether you're navigating sleepless nights, toddler tantrums or the emotional and behavioural challenges that come as your child grows, I offer clarity, reassurance and support through all the "what ifs" of parenthood.

For more than 30 years, I've worked alongside families and one thing those years have taught me is that lasting change comes from understanding what's really happening, then building strategies that work for your child, your family and your lives. My goal isn't simply to improve sleep or behaviour. It's to help create calmer homes, more confident parents and happier families.

No rigid routines for them or impossible standards for you. Just compassionate, evidence-informed, responsive support that meets you where you are.

Clarity.

Reassurance.

Support.

A fresh pair of expert eyes on your family's unique challenges.

When you feel you have tried everything and nothing has worked, reaching out for support can feel like throwing mud at a wall and just hoping it sticks! I really do get that.

Maybe you’re here because...

  • Bedtime has become a battle.

  • You’re exhausted by broken nights.

  • Your child’s emotions seem bigger than both of you can manage.

  • Mornings feel stressful before the day has even begun.

  • You’re wondering if what you’re experiencing is "normal"

  • You’ve tried all the advice and nothing seems to fit your child.

  • You’re worried you're getting it wrong.

And all of this is keeping you awake long after your child has gone to sleep.

You're not failing.

Every child is different and there is rarely a one-size-fits-all answer. What works beautifully for one family may be completely wrong for another.

I take the time to understand your child, your family and your goals before recommending practical strategies that feel achievable and fit your values.

Together, we'll make parenting feel less overwhelming.

My aim is to create calmer days, restful nights and happier, more confident families

Why families choose to work with me:

✓ Over 30 years supporting babies, children and families.

✓ Evidence-informed, compassionate guidance.

✓ Personalised strategies tailored to your child, your family and your values.

✓ Support from birth to 12 years, helping families navigate sleep, behaviour and emotional challenges as their children grow.

✓ A whole child approach. Sleep and behaviour considered together, not in isolation.

Alongside supporting families privately, I've shared my expertise through national television and media.

As seen on:

This has allowed me to see first-hand the vulnerability of being a new parent, bouncing between expectations of parenthood (often other people's) and the reality of family life. The exhaustion. The second guessing. The guilt of returning to work. The anguish of hoping your child's school truly understands their neurodivergent needs. And in those deeply human moments, I've learned that we all need a little support sometimes.

Being welcomed into families' homes has been a privilege. I've shared in the joy of magical firsts, sat alongside parents during some of their hardest days and watched little people experience the intensity of emotions as they begin to make sense of the world around them.

It's taught me that parenting is an ever-changing journey of learning, adapting and growing alongside your child.

And somewhere within that timeline, I was promoted to my most important role: Mum. Experiencing parenthood from the inside gave me an even deeper understanding of everything I'd witnessed professionally.

Those experiences, both professional and personal, have shaped the way I work today. I believe children thrive when they feel understood, parents thrive when they feel supported and lasting change comes from understanding what's really happening, not simply trying to fix the behaviour we see.

Kind words from families I've worked with

Baby Holding Hand

Marjan

"...we decided to contact Annie after a recommendation by a friend. No exaggeration, this was one of the most important and best decisions I have ever made..."

Megan & Oliver

"...Annie, with her expert knowledge and endless kindness, helped us shape a plan that felt (& was) ultimately very simple and rooted to our values as parents. I can’t recommend Annie enough and hand on heart say she has changed our lives..."

Laura

"Annie was superb from start to finish! She is sensitive, sympathetic and has an innately astute way about her. I immediately liked her and felt instantly reassured.  To say it transformed my life is an understatement…even if that does sound melodramatic. It’s true and I just wish that I had sought help" earlier.”

J Gittens

"As new parents to beautiful 11 month old twin girls, our lives are now defined quite simply by pre-Annie and post-Annie; the latter involving a lot more sleep all round!..."

By the end of our work together, my hope is that you're no longer lying awake wondering what to do next.

Instead, you're flopping onto the sofa at the end of the day knowing you've got a plan, feeling confident in the decisions you've made and trusting yourself a little more than you did before.

Because that's often what most parents are really looking for; a calmer, more connected way forwards.
